Over 20 groups of children from the schools in Qingxing district have participated in the exhibition with about 100 pieces of work, including paper cutting, painting, sculpture, hand-made devices, long scroll hand-painting and other art expressions, demonstrating the unique culture and custom of Ningxia.

The exhibition contained three main parts: “Helan Mountain”, “people living along the Yellow River” and “live long and proper”, which illustrated the different aspects of life in Ningxia.

“Helan Mountain” expressed children’s respect for the gifts bestowed by the mountain. Through this performance, they showed their understanding of the local customs, traditional culture and appreciation for nature.

After the opening ceremony, MOCA Yinchuan also held the 2022 children’s development forum, aimed at guiding children to excavate and recognize the "beauty" of the Yellow River Basin, and how to turn the Chinese aesthetic spirit of the past century to the "modern spirit" of China's modernization.

The children acted as guides leading the guests around the exhibition. There will be videos of children introducing exhibits next to each piece of work. During the exhibition period, which is from July 6th to August 30th, one can watch the whole process of children’s participation in the creation of the work and their interpretation of it.
